What Residents & Families Say

SP

Siriwan Pongsakorn

Companion Living Resident · Chiang Mai

I moved in after my husband passed and I found myself eating alone every night. Here, meals are something to look forward to again. The other residents feel like old friends even though I've only been here five months. The staff check in without being pushy, which I appreciate.

My mother was reluctant at first, but the trial week changed her mind completely. She enjoyed the cooking sessions and the garden so much that she asked to stay on. The quarterly updates are genuinely useful — I can tell the staff know her personally, not just her name on a list.

Margaret Jensen

Premium Resident · Originally from Denmark

I retired to Chiang Mai six years ago and lived alone until a friend mentioned this place. The private suite is spacious, and having a coordinator handle my errands and appointments has made life much simpler. My daughter stayed in the guest room last month and said she felt relieved to see how things work here.

The food here is the real thing — proper northern Thai dishes, not hotel food pretending to be Thai. I joined the cooking sessions on Wednesdays and now I teach the group my grandmother's laab recipe. It's the first time in years I've felt useful and happy at the same time.

We looked at several options across Southeast Asia for my father. What convinced us was the trial week — no other place offered that. He came for seven days and called me on day three to say he didn't want to leave. The pricing is transparent, which matters when you're managing a parent's finances from abroad.

Trial Week Participant · Chiang Rai

I came for the trial week not sure what to expect. The orientation host walked me through everything on the first morning and by lunchtime I already felt settled. The storytelling evenings were lovely — everyone has such different backgrounds. I'm now considering the companion arrangement for later this year.

Resident Journeys

A closer look at how community living has made a difference for some of our residents.

From Living Alone to Finding a Routine Again

The Situation

Khun Somjit, 74, had been living alone in a house on the outskirts of Chiang Mai for three years after her children moved to Bangkok. She was managing physically but found herself skipping meals and spending most days without conversation.

What Changed

Her daughter arranged a trial week. Within a few days, Somjit joined the cooking group and discovered she enjoyed teaching younger residents how to prepare traditional Lanna dishes. She moved to Companion Living the following month.

Where She Is Now

Seven months in, Somjit eats three meals a day with others, leads the Wednesday cooking session, and her daughter says she sounds happier on the phone than she has in years. She plans to stay indefinitely.

A Family Finding Peace of Mind Across Borders

The Situation

The Tanaka family, based in Osaka, needed residential care for their 79-year-old father who had been living in Thailand for a decade. Distance made it difficult to check on his daily wellbeing, and they worried about coordination.

What Changed

They chose the Premium Private Residence for its quarterly family updates and dedicated coordinator. Mr. Tanaka settled into a suite with a garden view and was enrolled in priority activities within the first week.

Where He Is Now

After ten months, the family receives detailed quarterly reports and stays in regular contact with the coordinator. His daughter visited using the guest accommodation and said the experience exceeded what she had hoped for.
